Say no to plastic bags
Every year, millions of plastic bags are thrown away in our streets, beaches and fields. They take hundreds of years to disappear, and many of them end up in the sea, where turtles and fish swallow them. Plastic also pollutes the soil and harms farmers' crops. However, we can change this situation. If we carry a cloth bag when we go shopping, we will use fewer plastic bags. Schools can organise clean-up days, and shops can stop giving free bags. Small actions, when they are done by everyone, make a big difference.
