Amina is a fifteen-year-old pupil from Tlemcen. Every Saturday morning, she joins a group of young volunteers who help old people in her neighbourhood. They do the shopping for them, clean their gardens and spend time talking with them. Last winter, the group collected warm clothes and blankets for poor families in the mountains.
Amina says: “Volunteering has changed my life. I have learnt to be patient and responsible. When I help others, I feel useful and happy.” Her parents are proud of her because she manages to balance her studies and her voluntary work. Next year, she will create a small club at her school to encourage other pupils to join.
